The d1 Gold Residency Visa Program grants foreign investors who have invested heavily in Portuguese businesses or real estate projects permanent residency status after completion of the investment period. It also grants permanent resident status to accompanying family members, as well as access to public services and social benefits after five years of residence in Portugal under this type of visa.

Requirements for obtaining a residence permit in Portugal

In order to obtain any type of Portuguese residence permit, applicants must meet certain requirements set by the government. These include: financial requirements, such as having sufficient funds at their disposal; educational requirements, such as sufficient language skills; employment status requirements, such as being employed or self-employed; and other factors such as age, marital status, etc.

Advantages of obtaining a residence permit in Portugal

Once applicants successfully obtain one of these two types of visas, they will have access to the public services, healthcare, right to work, tax benefits, educational opportunities and cultural experiences that come with obtaining official residency status.
