250 graves found on Gerard Pique's property in Spain

In 2015, Gerard Pique bought a plot of land in Malaga to build a hotel, but is now faced with some unexpected news. The FC Barcelona footballer is not living at the best of times both on and off the pitch: he is not a regular starter under Javi Hernandez, recently split with Shakira and, to top it all off, discovered 250 graves on a plot of land he owned that he wanted to use to build a luxury hotel.

Pike was eager to realize a hotel project in the city of Málaga, so in 2015 he purchased a plot of land for around 20 million dollars, as it is located on the Costa del Sol, one of the most exclusive areas of the city. However, in the end, he was in for an unexpected''problem.

It is known that 250 graves have been discovered at the site, apparently dating back several centuries, making it difficult to construct any type of building.

"We found about 250 graves, most of which are empty ", explained archaeologist Alberto Cumpian on Hoy por hoy Malaga. "These graves were probably never used and do not have enough value to be preserved. This is one of the largest necropolises in the country. ", he added.

The archaeologist concluded that he hopes to continue with the project by January 2023 and believes there should be no problem erecting the building in the future, although appropriate research must first be carried out to establish the exact age of the graves.
