The desire to create a limited release came about when Michael was harvesting the 2018 vintage. The 2018 vintage was one of the best for Napa Valley in the past two decades.

Michael traveled to ancient oak forests in France to hand-select the trees for the barrels in which the wine would be aged. He then worked with master blacksmith Quinn Roberts of the renowned cooperative Tonnellerie Ô to''Define fine roasting and barrel finishing. The wine was aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak and is ready to drink. It will continue to mature over the next 8-10 years.
