Many tourists have a great time and enjoy the entertainment of Sunny Beach without''knowing that the southern part of the resort is located on the peninsula of the ancient town of Nessebar. It emerged over 3200 years ago and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The town was settled at the end of the Bronze Age and according to legend it is the birthplace of the author of Aesop's fables, who has a third origin. Parts of the peninsula's fortress wall, churches, the remains of the Mesemvria fortress, an authentic mill and the houses in which the locals live are still preserved.

"Thousands of years of history are imprinted at every step in the ancient town of Nessebar - legendary battles, victories, losses. The preserved archaeology and artifacts are priceless.
