€80,000 for real estate in Belgrade? The family raised the money, but no one even knocked down the price by a euro.
In the New Belgrade group on Facebook, there was a post: "Maybe someone is selling an apartment or knows someone who is selling an apartment in the area of 45/44/70/70a for 80,000 euros for a young family of four with infants." However, the responses they received were not encouraging for them.
As the author of the ad, who wishes to remain anonymous, says, they earned their money "honestly, on their own, without inheritances, selling land, or legacies. They would buy an apartment on credit."
However, as the commentator points out, they couldn't find anything at a reasonable price: "I tried to buy the smallest apartment in a four-story building last year; the apartment needed a complete renovation and cost 120,000 euros, but no one wanted to lower the price even by a euro. I know a lot of people in these areas and couldn't find anything at a reasonable price. So the answer to your question is - no."
Other comments were also not encouraging, indicating that it's hard to find real estate in these areas for that kind of money, and that apartments are more expensive. One commenter points out that the nearest areas where you can find something for that price are Ledine, but there’s nothing available in the blocks since they are mostly bought for rental purposes.
Thus, the journalists of Telegraf Biznis tried to find at least one such apartment and conducted their own research. The search was limited to finding a three-room apartment in Belgrade for no more than 80,000 euros.
Experts claim that there is finally a "cooling" of prices in the real estate market in Serbia. Time will tell how true this is.
