Australians lost $120,000 in a fraudulent scheme in Bali.

Chris Slade experienced significant scams and financial loss when he decided to invest in real estate in Bali.
He met Putri Thornhill, a local resident of Indonesia, who offered him the opportunity to invest in a villa rental in Badung. Chris invested $66,000, expecting to earn $1,300 in monthly profit. He was confident that the money would be returned within a year and that there would be profit after two years.
However, it turned out that Putri Thornhill was a fraud and no contract was signed. Chris and other victims reported it to the police, but they were disappointed by the lack of response.

Victims of the scam are urging other victims to come forward and file a police report to prevent further fraud. Despite the loss of money and trust, they hope to recover their investments in the future. This serves as a serious reminder of the importance of caution when investing and verifying the legitimacy of offers before putting in money.
