Free seminar on estate planning for farmers in Georgia

Hancock County, Georgia (WGXA)

A summer Saturday morning in Central Georgia. It's the kind of morning that makes you want to enjoy it by sleeping in a little longer and perhaps spending some time by the pool. But successful lawyer Veronica McClendon from Macon has decided to spend her day helping others.

McClendon got up early to head to Hancock County, where she is holding a free seminar at the Holy Galilean Baptist Church in Sparta. Veronica McClendon, who specializes in estate planning at her firm McClendon Law and Consulting, is coming to provide information and guidance to farmers and landowners regarding the transfer of property to the next generation.

Her passion for helping others preserve their heritage drives McClendon to travel across the state and conduct free seminars.“I want people to become more and more prosperous, and the way to achieve that is through good estate planning.”- says McClendon.“We often talk about poverty, economic inequalities, and differences in wealth.

This happens because there has been a lack of good estate planning. I believe that this is a way to combat poverty by helping people meet their economic needs through effective planning.”

This week, McClendon shares his advice with farmers on the importance of proper protection to preserve their farms for their heirs. To learn more about McClendon, please visit our additional webpage "On the Farm."
