Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffreys charged with orchestrating trade sales
The actor has filed a class action lawsuit accusing former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries of orchestrating a "massive sex trafficking operation." The lawsuit also alleges that Abercrombie & Fitch had "participation and intentional involvement" in the operation.
Plaintiff David Bradberry alleges that Jeffreys used his power and influence to seduce attractive young men, convincing them that he would hire them as Abercrombie models, and that the company approved these abuses. The financial success of fashion brand Abercrombie fueled Jeffreys' alleged sex trafficking organization, which he ran from 1992 to 2014, alleges the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Friday.
Abercrombie &''Fitch declined to comment on the lawsuit, noting that it does not comment on pending lawsuits. Jeffreys declined to comment through his attorney Brian Bieber. "Mr. Jeffreys will not comment to the press on this new lawsuit, just as he has not previously commented on pending litigation.
The company allowed Jeffreys to "sexually terrorize young male models," the lawsuit alleges. Jeffreys lured attractive young men to his villa in the Hamptons for so-called auditions. He forced them to undress, sign nondisclosure agreements, then take drugs and engage in sexual acts with himself, his partner Matthew Smith and''Bradberry claims Jeffreys raped him anally. He was later paid $2,500 and sent to France, where he was allegedly forced to perform more sexual acts with Jeffreys. At the time, he still aspired to become an Abercrombie model, the lawsuit says.
