CNN has recalled Donald Trump's past interest in Adolf Hitler.

CNN contributors Boris Sanchez and Brianna Keilar explained that Donald Trump's interest in Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler is nothing new, after the former president was condemned for repeating Hitler's rhetoric, claiming immigrants are "poisoning the blood of our country." "This is not a new phenomenon," Keilar said.
In 2021, Michael Bender recounted in his book "Frankly, We Did Win This Election" how Trump reportedly praised Hitler during a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I in France.
"Well, Hitler did a lot of good things," the then-president told his chief of staff, John Kelly, according to Bender. Kelly pushed back against Trump's statement, but the president pointed out the economic''Germany's recovery after Hitler came to power as evidence. Trump has since denied saying this.
Keylar also noted that Peter Baker and Susan Glasser reported in their book "The Divider," published in 2022, that Trump criticized U.S. generals for not acting like Hitler's generals did in World War II.
Keylar recalled that in 1990, Trump's first wife, Ivana, told Vanity Fair that he kept a collection of Hitler's speeches in his bedside cabinet. "If I had those speeches, I would never read them," Donald Trump said at the time.
It was only last year that Keilar recalled Donald Trump entertaining Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes and rapper Ye, who made anti-Semitic remarks in''social media, on his Mar-a-Lago estate.
"We see a definite trend here, and the trend is clear," Keilar said.
