Investments in the Spanish real estate market are expected to decrease by50% to9 billion euros by2023: Correction Colonial.
Home Corresponding news on August7,2023 by Intermoney
** According to the newspaper Cinco Días, citing a report from the Colliers real estate consulting company, investments in assets in the sector in Spain will decrease by almost50% this year and will remain at the level of9 billion euros.
"The reasons for this are the aggressive monetary policy of central banks, which pushes up yields. Another negative factor, especially affecting the second quarter, was the sequence of elections in Spain. However, the consulting company expects a certain recovery in the second half of the year, which will not compensate for the bad first half-year and may continue until2024."
Assessment: The factors mentioned by Colliers are not too favorable. The real estate sector, which may benefit in the future from the existing liquidity, may be looking for a horizon of interest rate stabilization. At the same time, the fact is that the results of socimi listed on the continuous market have been quite satisfactory, with solid EBITDA growth, with no noticeable decline in occupancy in Madrid or Barcelona.
