What is La Garganta? The Duke of Westminster's hunting estate in southern Spain, which has been visited by the British royal family for decades.

Ever since it was reported that Queen Camilla went on vacation last week - which may have been due to her husband's recent health issues - there has been speculation about what she is doing during her trip and where she is. Fortunately, answers have emerged, provided by a Spanish journalist: Queen Camilla has been grouse hunting! In a Spanish TV program called TardeAR, journalist Marisa Martin Blazquez told host Ana Rosa Quintana that Queen Camilla spent her vacation days at a farm in La Garganta, a huge hunting estate located in the Sierra Morena mountains near the border between Andalusia and Castile-La Mancha.
What is La Garganta?
It is one of the largest estates in Spain and the largest private hunting estate in Europe. With 15,000 hectares, which is 1.5 times the size of the entire city of Barcelona, the estate has its own helipad, train station, gas station and dozens of employees, including an army of private security guards.

Since the acquisition of the British royal family
La Garganta has gained a reputation for hosting some of the family's rowdiest parties. In 2005, Prince William and Prince Harry, then young, went on a hunting expedition with their close friends to kill deer, wild boar and partridge, followed by a raucous whiskey party.
La Garganta Estate is located outside the Valle de Alcudia Natural Park and is a kind of natural paradise. The hilly and densely forested area is inhabited by many Iberian herbivores, including steppe goats, red deer, wild boar and mouflon, and the occasional lion susse or imperial eagle.
