The house on Sirasa is designed as a small village on a Greek island.

This house on the island of Syros, known as the Viglostasi Residence, was designed by the renowned Athens architectural studio Block722. It is the perfect place for relaxation, fully harmonizing with the picturesque natural landscapes of the island. The project was developed at the request of a private client, a family of four, and required the creation of a modern yet modest space that would ergonomically fit into its surroundings. The architects found a solution inspired by the architectural typology of small Aegean villages, creating minimalist ensembles of low volumes typically located on the slopes of hills and facing the sea.

The Block722 studio is renowned for its masterful approach to minimalism, which utilizes the characteristics of the environment, natural materials, calm color palettes, and a relaxing atmosphere. In the past, the team, led by its co-founders...Sotiris CherkasandKatey MargaritoglouI implemented projects such as the creative resort in Crete, "O Lofos," which was completed last year. In this project, the team also focused on the uniqueness derived from the character of traditional Greek houses, using materials like stone, wood, and white plaster to create a complex of small buildings. These structures are connected by external pathways and terraces, reflecting the style of local communities on the Aegean Sea islands.

Inside the building, the concept of "soft luxury" prevails, achieved through a careful selection of materials and a thoughtful approach to space.

The materials used include Olympus marble, travertine, bamboo, and oak.

“All of this fully aligns with the client’s vision of a home that evokes traditional Aegean structures, offering a variety of views, sensations, and qualities of space for enjoyment,” the architects stated in their announcement.

Nature permeates every corner, whether it's the long sea panoramas, numerous landscaped areas and terraces, garden canopies, or green roofs that have been planted with local vegetation. Additionally, a few steps down the slope lead guests to the clients' private cove, which is used for frequent swimming and docking of yachts.
