It was a vacation spot for the Kennedy family when their patriarch Joseph Patrick Kennedy was the US ambassador to the UK from1938 to1940, as indicated in the listing with French real estate agents Savills French Riviera. Even President John F. Kennedy learned to swim here, as reported by the New York Post, which first published this sale. "We have finally returned to London," Kennedy wrote in a letter to the owner's father in1938. "I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your great kindness in letting us use your home for the summer. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed it more than I can say."It is easy to understand why the family had such a lovely time. Built in1920 and designed by renowned French architect Jacques Couelle, the main house features a grand reception hall with an impressive marble staircase, a formal dining room, a breakfast room, a spacious living room, and a cinema room with a game room, according to the listing.

There are also three kitchens - one specifically for breakfast, allowing for light and quick meals, nine bedrooms, and a temperature-controlled wine cellar.
