A $60 million French chateau-style home is the most expensive home in Texas.
Texas-based Villa Crespi may not be the largest home in the state, but it has the highest price tag. The French Chateau in the city of Dallas is listed for sale at an impressive $60 million, making it the most expensive property available for purchase in the Lone Star State, according to the New York Post.
This limestone mansion sits on a 15-acre property and has approximately 27,000 square feet of space. The estate is also equipped with a two-story guest house and a recreational complex of nearly 5,000 square feet. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to amenities.
Villa Crespi is full of charming period elements. The structure, named after its original Italian Count owner, was built in 1938 and later renovated in the 1990s. Inside, you'll find 14-foot-high ceilings on the first and second floors. There are also many charming period details, including Venetian plaster walls, wood floors, and a paneled library. One of the home's most notable features is the customizable fireplace with Swarovski marble surround, which is both cozy and chic.
This Dallas mansion was built 85 years ago but was renovated in the 1990s. There are a total of 10 bedrooms and 17 bathrooms. But don't worry, there are still plenty of benefits. There's a tennis court, a country club-sized pool and plenty of walking trails outside. If you have a helicopter, there is also a helipad.
"This is the most important house of its era built anywhere in the country," Richard Brettell, former director of the Dallas Museum of Art, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram newspaper.
Michelle Galbraith and Kyle Kruse of Allie Beth Allman & Associates are jointly offering this home for sale.
