Doncic lights up in Slovenia's win over Montenegro: second triple-double in a row.
Luka Doncic had his second triple-double this summer season for Slovenia with 34 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds in a 104-100 win over Montenegro in a FIBA World Cup 2023 preliminary game.
Doncic, who also had a triple-double against Greece, hit a three-point shot with 54 seconds left when the score was tied 97-97. He finished the game hitting 11 of 21 attempts and missing just two field goals in 32 minutes and 52 seconds of play.
Klemen Prepelic (17 points) secured the win for Slovenia by hitting all four free throws in the final seconds. Montenegro was led by Vladimir Mihajlovic (26 points) and Dino Radoncic (21 points, 5 rebounds).
So, Luka is in great shape and should make up for the absence of Vlatko Csancsar, who will be away from the court for a long time. We can say that Doncic's start to the season and Slovenia's match against Montenegro today are a foreshadowing that Luka will be unstoppable in the Balkan team's journey to the FIBA World Cup 2023.
