Dear Mama: Tupac and His Relationship - The Documentary

New five-part documentary series "Dear Mama," which explores the life and legacy of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur and his mother Afeni Shakur, will soon be released. The series will present viewers with a story of Tupac's love and appreciation for his mother, who played a huge role in his life, his quest for change and his work in the political sphere.

"Dear Mama" is Tupac's message to his mother, the movement and all black women and men fighting for their rights.

The director of the series, Allen Hughes, emphasized that after watching the show, viewers will feel like they were there for Tupac and Afeni and will regret that they left so early. And Tupac's godfather, Jamal Joseph, for his part,''Mothers and influenced a new generation of hip-hop artists.

After the death of her son, Afeni Shakur founded the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation to promote the arts among young people. She also became the executor of the rapper's will and co-produced the musical Holler If Ya Hear Me on Broadway, which used his songs.

Afeni Shakur passed away on May 2, 2016, in California at the age of 69.
