Jay Leno sued for conservatorship due to wife's dementia: court documents.

Comedic actor Jay Leno has filed a petition to gain legal guardianship of his wife Mavis Leno's property due to her dementia. According to recent court documents, Mavis has increasingly lost her ability to navigate space and time, rendering her unable to execute her intended estate plan. Leno is seeking to establish a trust for their joint estate to ensure sufficient funds to care for Mavis in the event he passes away before she does.
Mavis Leno, a longtime board member of the nonprofit organization Feminist Women's Action Fund and chair of the group Campaign for Afghan Women and Girls, is an advocate for women's rights.
The guardianship hearing is scheduled for April 9, and it is still unclear when Mavis' dementia was diagnosed. Jay Leno's estate plan also includes an accounting for Mavis's brother, who is her only immediate heir besides Jay. The couple have no children.
