Exclusive: 2 years after John McAfee's death, widow Janice searches for answers and faces bankruptcy.
The widow of technology emperor John McAfee, Janice McAfee, is still in a state of grief. She does "random jobs to support herself," she has no money left, and she still doesn't know what really happened to her husband.
Since her husband, crypto-guru and anti-virus pioneer John McAfee, passed away more than two years ago in a Spanish prison in spain/catalonia/barselona/">Barcelona, she has remained in Spain in an undisclosed location and only escaped homelessness thanks to the kindness of friends.
She can't move forward because she still doesn't know what happened to her husband, despite a court ruling from Catalonia this year that John McAfee committed suicide and the case is effectively closed.
In an exclusive interview with the magazine via video call, she explained her current situation.
"For over two years, not only have I had to face the tragedy of John's death, but it's so hard for me to move on because the authorities refuse to give me the results of his autopsy. I have tried and tried, but they won't let me see them. "
"I have the possibility of an independent autopsy, but it costs 30,000 euros and I don't have the money to pay for it.
"It's hard for me to make a judgment about what really happened without having money, but I hope this interview will give people a chance to find out what's really going on. I still get messages from people who still can't believe he's dead," she says.
