Florida woman leaves inheritance and estate in Tampa to 7 Persian cats: Reports
The Florida resident who died in November decided to leave her legacy to her seven Persian cats, as well as a legacy for each of them. Nancy Sauer of Tampa, Florida, died Nov. 26 at the age of 84. According to the Tampa Bay Times, Sauer left a stipulation in her will that her seven cats should remain in her estate and receive a legacy.
This isn't the first time an animal has been the beneficiary of its owner's money. Designer Karl Lagerfeld left part of his legacy to his beloved cat Choupette when he died in 2019.
Sawyer's friend Jana Alban told the Tampa Bay Times that the will specifies that the estate will not be sold until the last cat dies. The owner was worried that the pets would suffer if''determined by an attorney, but Silk said it would be "substantial" and enough to provide the cats with everything they need for life. "They're only five years old. Persians can be expensive and finicky," Silk said.
