Drone photos show Tyler Perry's $100 million estate in Douglas County

The aerial view of media mogul Tyler Perry's new home has struck a chord with its breathtaking footage. Drone photographer David Wald captured several shots of Tyler Perry's $100 million home in Douglas County that show a property that is as good as and even better than what Elvis Presley might envy.
The 40,000-square-foot palace sits on 2,100 acres in Douglasville, near Atlanta and just a short drive from Tyler Perry's studio. The estate also features a huge pool and a grand entrance to the grounds.
The Tyler Perry ProjectAccording to an article in the AJC'. 'In June, photos of the estate began appearing online. It's a personal project Perry has been working on for years. The project began in 2013, when the Madea actor allegedly bought 856 acres in Douglas County, a large tract of land that was originally planned to house more than 1,300 Georgia residents. Later, Fox Corporation-owned tabloid website TMZ, a prominent tabloid website, published photos of the estate that showed a huge luxury home, a huge area for personal use and what appears to be a private airstrip.
With photos of the estate circulating online, people have expressed their delight on social media.
Drone footage and interesting detailsWold, who lives in Cobb, has been contacted by phone regarding his''s drone shots of the property just last month.
Wald said he's drawn to architecture, and it's the sheer size of the Rectangle building or the "dimensionless" size of the aesthetic appeal to him. "I like architecture, so I mostly shoot city or nature videos, and I really liked the architecture of his building. I was interested in how the construction was going," Wald said.
Wald spent about an hour flying the drone from a location outside of the facility itself and discovered an interesting detail that he only learned after watching the drone footage video. "On the back of the building there are passages from Psalm 91 that run the length of the building: 'You are my refuge, my fortress...'. It was not''s the only one filming with drones over Perry Manor, but, he said, he appears to be one of the most recent to post video footage of the location, which he filmed on Sept.

Wald is certified by the FAA and does video both corrugated and mixed with commercial work. Wald took early retirement after moving to Atlanta to work in the early 2000s respectively with Long Island, N.Y.. He started drones in 2020, he said.
Wald said it only took him a few flights to master the flying part, combined with lots of YouTube video tutorials. He said he learned the most about creating and editing videos.
When it comes to the question of the piloting itself,''He explained that it wasn't like kids playing with remote-controlled airplanes. He had to take several hour-long exams to get his certification.
Tyler Perry's other projects
Tyler Perry bought the 17-acre estate on West Paces Ferry Road in 2009 for $9 million, which is practically pennies compared to the price of his new Douglasville estate. After spending millions to renovate the Buckhead property, Perry sold it to evangelist David Turner for $17.5 million in 2016, the AJC reported.
The year before, Perry started another major project - Tyler Perry Studios. He bought the 330-acre former Fort McPherson site in 2015 for $30 million and invested more than $250 million to build and''renovation. It has been said that Tyler Perry's studio is larger than any major studio in Los Angeles and remains the only major movie studio in the country owned by an African-American.
