The exclusive seven-bedroom estate also features garages for five cars, a game room, and a wine cellar, but the rapper is ready to move on and diversify his real estate portfolio.

French Montana purchased a seven-bedroom house with an area of 16,000 square feet on a 1.35-acre lot in 2020.

Karim Kharbouch, better known by his stage name French Montana, is saying goodbye to his 1.35-acre estate in the prestigious Hidden Hills area of Los Angeles and is asking for $22.75 million for a seven-bedroom house with nine bathrooms in one of the city's most famous neighborhoods, populated by celebrities.

A rapper from Morocco bought a house at the end of 2020 from basketball player Paul George, the star forward of the Los Angeles Clippers. He paid $8.4 million, which was somewhat of a good deal: Mr. George initially asked for $9.5 million for the property, which is gated and features a basketball court, fire pit, pool, and stone-finished spa, along with garages for five cars. He was willing to lower the price by $1 million after the property had been on the market for six months.

The current price is significantly higher, but luxury real estate agent Tomer Friedman, representing Mr. Montana's interests through The Fridman Group at Compass, says that considering the nearly 16,000 square feet of the estate, it aligns with prices in Hidden Hills.

“It’s not just the size of the house, but also the lot,” said Mr. Friedman, whose clients also include the Kardashian-Jenner family, Britney Spears, and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. “You have over an acre. You have a sports court and a spa in the guest house below. This place has everything you need for the California lifestyle.”

The average price per square foot in Hidden Hills is currently $1,365, according to movoto.com.

Mr. Montana, 38, is the founder of Coke Boys Records, formerly known as Cocaine City Records. He was born in Casablanca and moved with his family to the South Bronx when he was 13 years old. He started his career as a battle rapper and signed with Sean Combs' Bad Boy Records and Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group in 2012. His 2017 hit, the diamond single "Unforgettable," topped the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart.

Mr. Friedman says that Mr. Montana has decided to sell again because he now wants to diversify his real estate portfolio on a global scale.

“He is looking for something new in Miami, maybe something else in Los Angeles, something probably in New York, as well as abroad, possibly in Paris,” Mr. Friedman said. “He is diversifying. It’s a big house.”

In fact, his living room is enormous on its own - 4,000 square feet, with high ceilings, motorized skylights, and sliding glass walls that open up to a stunning view of the property.

“Usually, there are no views in Hidden Hills. But this property has views,” said Mr. Friedman.

There is also a breakfast room with a fireplace, located next to the chef's kitchen, as well as a formal dining room with high ceilings; a game room, a home theater, a gym (with a steam shower), and a wine closet. Mr. Montana's bedroom features a double-sided fireplace and two huge walk-in closets; the master bathroom has a natural stone bathtub with a built-in sofa.

“Homes in Los Angeles need to have a certain layout, and the integration of indoor and outdoor spaces is important,” said Mr. Friedman. “This is how we live in Los Angeles, and this house is perfect for the Los Angeles lifestyle.”
