Baseball's gallery of fame, Chipper Jones, is selling his Georgia mansion for $11 million dollars
Atlanta Braves legend Chipper Jones just sold his luxury villa in Canton, Georgia for $11 million dollars. The Hall of Fame Hall of Famer, who played for the Braves for 19 years, had called the 37-acre estate his home since 2018, which he bought for $9.25 million through a trust, PropertyShark records show.
Hidden among the trees between the hustle and bustle of Atlanta and the countryside of the Cherry Ridge Mountains, the home was designed to highlight its prime location,” said Katie McGuirk of Ansley Real Estate, the exclusive Atlanta affiliate of Christie's International Real Estate, in the listing.
The estate's picturesque grounds are home to many amenities, including a boat shed, an Olympic-sized heated pool with a large cabana, an outdoor dining area, a nine-car garage, a four-car stable and a series of cross-country motorcycle trails throughout the estate. “The whole family has enjoyed sections of the property,” Mrs. McGuirk told Mansion Global magazine. “Chipper's mother is an award-winning competitive rider and their sons have enjoyed using the cross bike paths and fishing in the lake.” “The buyers are also passionate about horses,” Mrs. McGuirk said. “So the stables were a key selling point, as well as the opportunity for the family to be in the same location.”
The deed and therefore the identity of the buyer is not yet available in public records. From the street, a stately gate opens to reveal a wide driveway passing the guest house and large private lake before reaching the main house.
A tall two-story lobby leads into the 23,000-square-foot mansion with an open floor plan and floor-to-ceiling windows.
According to Mrs. McGuirk, the family is moving to a smaller home. Mr. Jones, 51, could not be reached for comment. He is an eight-time All-Star Game participant, two-time Silver Slugger winner and World Series champion. He finished his playing career in 2012 and returned to the Braves in 2021 as an assistant hitting consultant. The sale was first reported by TMZ.
