The Serbian diaspora has recently taken a significant share in the sale of real estate in our country.

Serbs living abroad are currently most interested in new buildings in certain parts of the capital and on the mountains. Our compatriots who have been living and working abroad for a long time are buying real estate to support themselves when they return to Serbia, and also increasingly because of renting out apartments or houses, which is a very lucrative business. According to the portal 4zida,''The most sought-after apartments in new buildings and apartments on the mountains are on Zlatibor and Kopaonik, for which there are also the largest number of advertisements.

Besides these two mountains, potential diaspora buyers are increasingly interested in apartments in Divcibari, on Tara, and this type of real estate is also for sale in Vrnjačka Banja. Real estate agent Katarina Lazarevic explained where most often the diaspora buys apartments, some of which they then rent out. "There are two options - either come back here to live in retirement or buyreal estate to rent. Most of them are from Canada," Lazarevic says. She notes that those who want to invest their spare cash look at what they can rent out at a good price, and usually choose an apartment in''a new building in Belgrade, as well as apartments in Kopaonik or real estate in Zlatibor, where it is possible to hire an agency to handle the renting instead.
