Buying a house in Faro will cost 2,917 euros per square meter, while Loulé, at 3,898 euros per square meter, is the most expensive municipality in the region for home purchases.

Monchique (3.5%), Lagos (1.9%), and Aljezur (1.7%) are the three municipalities in the Algarve that recorded the highest increase in housing prices in the region in August, according to data from Idealista. This index adds that home prices in the Algarve rose by 1.2% in August compared to the previous month. The cost of buying a home was €3,215 per square meter (€/m2) at the end of August this year, based on the median value. In terms of quarterly variation, the increase was 1.8%, while the annual increase was 13%.

Analyzing by municipalities, prices in the region have increased in Monchique (3.5%), Lagos (1.9%), Aljezur (1.7%), Loulé (1.7%), São Brás de Alportel (1.3%), Albufeira (1%), Lagoa (0.7%), Portimão (0.6%), and Silves (0.6%). Prices remained stable in Olhão (0.1%), Faro (0%), Alcoutim (0%), and Tavira (-0.2%).

In contrast, prices decreased only in Castro Marim (-4%), Vila do Bispo (-1.2%), and Vila Real de Santo António (-1.2%).

The most expensive municipality for buying a house is Loulé (€3898/m²), followed by Lagos (€3643/m²) and Aljezur (€3592/m²). Next are Vila do Bispo (€3586/m²), Lagoa (€3572/m²), Albufeira (€3294/m²), Castro Marim (€2933/m²), Faro (€2917/m²), Tavira (€2894/m²), Silves (€2873/m²), and Fish (€2805/m²).

On the other hand, the cheapest prices are in Alcoutim (€753/m²), São Brás de Alportel (€2,335/m²), Monchique (€2,372/m²), Portimão (€2,499/m²), and Olhão (€2,718/m²).

At the national level, housing prices remained stable during the same period, amounting to €2,526 per square meter.
