Where in Portugal can you buy the cheapest (and the most expensive) houses?
According to general information, the highest property prices are observed along the country's coastline, while cheaper properties can be found in the inland areas. According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), there are 254 municipalities in Portugal where you can buy a house for an amount below the national median, which is 1,446 euros/m2. This value is calculated based on the houses sold in the country from October 2021 to September 2022. This means that in most municipalities in the country, you can buy a 100 square meter house for less than 145,000 euros, according to the report by Idealista.
The most affordable house prices can be found in the interior regions of the country.
