Guinness Storehouse is the best attraction in the world 2023.
In Dublin, Ireland, the Guinness Storehouse Museum has been recognized as the world's leading tourist attraction for 2023, beating such famous places as the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, Machu Picchu in Peru and Niagara Falls in Canada. The museum received the award at the World Travel Awards (WTA) ceremony at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai last night.
In addition, the Guinness Storehouse Museum was also named the world's best beer tour tourist attraction for the second year in a row. It won the category, beating competitors such as the Tiger Brewery Tour in Singapore and the Miller Brewery Tour in the US. At the same ceremony, the museum was also recognized as the best tourist attraction in Europe 2023.
The chief executive of Tourism Ireland, Alice Mansergh, noted that''The Guinness Storehouse Museum offers a unique experience to visitors, showcasing the history of Irish craftsmanship, culture and industry in a fresh and contemporary way. "It's great to see recognition on an international stage and a credit to the Guinness Storehouse team for their innovation and leadership," she said.
Opened 23 years ago, the doors to the Guinness Storehouse Museum at St James Gate Brewery are now ajar for the first time. Since then it has been visited by more than 20 million people. In 2011, the museum was visited by Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip during their official state visit to Ireland.
The winners in other categories were also announced at the Irish awards ceremony.
In the international awards category, Maldives won the 'World's Best Tourism Destination' award for the fourth consecutive time. Emirates was the "World's Best Airline in First Class" for 2023. Lima in Peru was named "best heritage urban tourist destination in the world".
