After pandemic lockdowns, vacation travel has once again stirred the world and hasn't slowed down, with crowded planes,''s record international hotel prices and more and more people realizing their dreams and the travel they've been saving for 'somehow'. There has never been a better time to gift travelers, and never has there been such a variety of choices. As a constantly traveling person, I'm constantly testing and optimizing and considering the best ways to make travel better.

Creating memories:

In recent years, one of the big trends in vacations has been to eschew poolside lounging in favor of more immersive and experiential travel, aka "Creating Memories" in the industry. That's why I've recently gone back to using a real camera. This year I've traveled to places with stunning ruins and''monuments including Greece, Turkey and Bhutan, and I wanted to memorize amazing views with better quality and better video than even the newest smartphones can offer. My solution? I went with a mirrorless camera, and after much research, I chose the Canon EOS R50 with wide-angle and telephoto lenses.

Size and weight are important, but mirrorless cameras offer other benefits, and most importantly, shoot better video, which is key to capturing''travel experiences. They also tend to have better autofocus, which is probably the most used feature for beginners. The Canon EOS R50, which I started using this year, is the smallest and lightest (even smaller than it looks in photos) in Canon's EOS R lineup (the R is an update of the previous M series) and has an excellent 24.2-megapixel sensor, can shoot 4K video at up to 30fps, can shoot continuously at 15fps, and can record over half an hour of video. It is sold bundled with two lenses RF-S18-45mm and FR-S55-210mm for less than a thousand dollars ($979). The R50 is a great camera for people who don't know much about cameras, but it also offers plenty of options for experienced photographers. The more serious''Photographers might consider the R10, which comes with a very versatile 18-150mm lens ($1,279), while professional models like the R3 and R5 can cost more than four thousand dollars.
