IHG opens new Crowne Plaza hotel in Indonesia

On October 13, 2023, IHG Hotels & Resorts announced a partnership agreement with MMS Land. This is a project of MMS Group Indonesia's real estate and hospitality division, Crowne Plaza Labuan Bajo in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia. This partnership marks IHG's third premium property in Indonesia and the third Crowne Plaza hotel in the country, joining Crowne Plaza Bandung and Crowne Plaza Jakarta Residences.

IHG Hotels & Resorts' Director of Development for Southeast Asia and Korea, Chris Anklin said, "We are very excited to introduce the beautiful Crowne Plaza Hotel in Labuan Bajo in partnership with MMS Land. Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts is one of the world's largest premium hotel brands and is ideal for guests visiting this paradise island for leisure, business or mixed travel."

MMS Land CEO Andre Chandra Biantoro said: "We are delighted to be working with IHG - a truly internationally recognized operator - on this landmark project.

The hotel will offer a choice of 199 comfortable WorkLife rooms and suites on seven floors, catering to both business and leisure guests. It will feature meeting rooms, a fitness center, spa, swimming pool and three restaurants, as well as access to the Plaza Workspace. Located near the Komodo International Airport, the hotel is a 15-minute drive from the Flores Island waterfront. Hotel guests can also visit the nearby UNESCO-listed Komodo Park and home to more than 5,000 rare Komodo dragons.

IHG already has 24 hotels in Indonesia spanning six brands, with another 15 hotels under development, including new brands such as Regent Hotels & Resorts, Vignette Collection and voco hotels.
