Cisco Cybersecurity Readiness Index 2024.

The organizations cover 30 regions in North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, UK, USA and Vietnam.

We studied 31 different solutions under the five main pillars of cybersecurity defense: identity intelligence, machine reliability, network resilience, cloud support, and AI hardening.

Respondents were asked to indicate which of these solutions they had already implemented, the extent of implementation and, if these solutions had not yet been implemented, what budgets had been approved and what the planned implementation time was.

Each solution was assigned separate weighting factors based on its relative importance in providing the relevant pillar of protection. Scores for each organization were then derived based on the degree of implementation of the various solutions in each of the five pillars, with partially implemented solutions having a 50% implementation rate and fully implemented solutions having a 100% implementation rate.

The importance of each pillar was weighted as follows:

• Id (25%);
• Network resilience (25%);
• Machine reliability (20%);
• Support for cloud solutions (15%);
• AI strengthening (15%).

Respondents are drawn from 18 industries: business services; construction; education; engineering, design, architecture; financial services; health care; manufacturing; media and communications; natural resources; personal care services; real estate; restaurant services; retail trade; technology services; transportation; travel services; wholesale trade; and "other."

The index is based on a double-blind survey conducted by an independent research company in January and February 2024.
