In the last 10 months of last year, foreign citizens and companies purchased real estate in Montenegro with a total value of 370 million euros, which is a significant increase compared to previous years, reports Vesti. According to the data of the Central Bank of Montenegro, in the last five years, real estate worth 1.2 billion euros was bought.

The largest number of real estate properties last year were purchased by German citizens and companies - in the amount of 57 million euros, followed by Russian investors who invested 50 million in real estate.

Investors from Turkey are in fifth place with 30 million, followed by Ukrainians and Swiss with 15 million each, Bosnians and Herzegovians with 14 million and Britons with 12 million euros.

Montenegro is of interest to foreigners as a developing country with great tourist potential and because of the large number of exclusive tourist and residential projects, as they expect the prices of these properties to only increase with the development of the projects.

Also on the growth of real estate sales to foreigners last year strongly influenced the program of economic citizenship, which allows you to buy real estate - apartments in tourist centers in the south for 450 thousand euros and in the north and in undeveloped areas for 250 thousand and get citizenship of Montenegro.
