According to new data, the delivery time for goods from Asia to Europe has increased by 15 days, and tariffs have risen by 400%.

After the crisis in the Red Sea on February 15, 2024, cargo transportation became mandatory. Due to this situation, the delivery time for goods from Asia to Europe and the cost of transportation have significantly increased.

In this situation, the role of intermediate transport continues to grow, and there is now an increasing demand for container shipments. In fact, the export of goods to Georgia is rising in all cases.

The profits from freight transportation are significantly declining, but it seems that the economy and the lari exchange rate are also falling, and now every order is being questioned regarding price increases. However, experts predict that the demand for delivery services will steadily grow and reach 74%.

The decrease in cargo transportation volumes will also affect the exchange rate of the lari and the country's economic activity, but there is no serious threat at the moment. The country's economy is expected to grow by 7% in 2024, which is an important outcome for Georgia.

In the region, exporters dependent on Russia have also decreased, and now they are returning to the position they were in before the Russia-Ukraine war. Only experts suggest that growth will be higher, but it seems that there will be few options for growth, and this figure will be 7%.

At the same time, the reduction in transportation volume affects the exchange rate of the lari and the country's economic activity, but the effect will be minimal.

The number of retirees in the country is increasing rapidly, and now the growth of newborns is significantly declining.

There is activity in the food industry sector, and food delivery projects have already been launched (some of them are still in development), which has drawn significant criticism from urban planners, as the construction of new roads and safety measures do not meet the standards.

Urban planners often warn that a region can become overloaded, and in this situation, it is necessary to consider various options for ensuring logistical activities.

Energy security will require the energy ministry to work actively, and at the moment it is not rejecting the lari.

In the regulated sector, there is a noticeable increase in construction activity in the capital, but in other cities of the country, discussions are underway about supporting the same models.

While changes in the economy have not yet begun in other cities of Georgia, it is already evident that today in Tbilisi, some taxi fleets continue to operate without issues, helping to improve the situation for passengers.

Taxi drivers will also actively switch to gas, which will reduce transportation costs. The process of reforming the taxi system in Tbilisi has begun, and most systems operate successfully without licenses, while drivers arrive at their destinations without any issues.

Unfortunately, confirmed and detailed data is not yet available to determine which type of products is suffering from rising prices, but experts suggest that cars, paints, sleepers, and mineral raw materials will be more expensive.

The number of retirees in the country is increasing, while the growth of the young population is declining, which threatens the future development of business. At the same time, food prices continue to rise, making them accessible only to a certain segment of the population.

This problem is becoming increasingly serious in all aspects, and today more and more restaurant menus are attracting the attention of diners with high and unreasonable prices.

Registered businesses can now not only fulfill orders but also offer final invoices that can significantly differ from those listed on the menu. This puts the customer in a difficult position, as they may doubt the accuracy of the invoice and its compliance with their rights.

The fact that there are no items on the menu and no service charge often leads customers to ask questions and demand lower prices.

Every year, 3/4 of officially registered businesses close down, and Irma Chitaia ranks first on the list of victims. A similar situation is expected next year.

Until the quarantine is over, and personally, Kherson can continue working, but for now, the work can be assessed as normal.

Unfortunately, work on construction sites has begun, but there is a lack of experience among the workers, which makes it necessary to pay attention to the development activities.

The country's priority is energy security, and at the moment it has not changed its position.
