Isaac Benzaken: The surge of anti-Semitism in Spain is something unprecedented in a long time.
The President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain (FCJE), Isaac Benzaken, stated in an exclusive interview with El Debate that Spanish Judaism is living with "great concern" due to the antisemitic acts that have occurred since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
“We have never faced such events in the history of our country for many years,” says Benzaken.
Jewish communities are outraged by the statements of some ministers in the Spanish government following the outbreak of war, which claim that Israel is committing war crimes.
In an interview, the president of FCJE, which unites over 14 Jewish communities and more than 30 synagogues across Spain, discusses the state of antisemitism in Spain and the measures taken to ensure the safety of Jewish communities and centers in the country.
