Spain's Kibet leads Kenya into the Cecafa semifinals.

The Kenyan national youth team, Junior Stars, on Tuesday secured a place in the semi-finals of the Cecafa Under-18 tournament thanks to a 1-0 win over Rwanda in a tense Group A match played at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.
This was the second win under coach Salima Babu. Spain-based Aldrin Kibet, who became a key player, scored the only goal in the 37th minute, securing Kenya's passage to the semifinals with one game to go before the end of the group stage.

In the opening match against Sudan, Babu stuck to the same lineup, namely Joseph Omuse and Tyrone Kariuki controlled the field while captain Amos Wanjala, Baron Ochieng, Joseph Bate and Manzoor Suleiman Okwaro stood in defense.
Despite the defeat, Rwanda head coach Baptiste Kairanga remains optimistic saying his team will fight till the end in their next match against Sudan to make it to the semifinals. Babu admitted that Rwanda played better than in the first group match against Somalia at the weekend but praised his players for a great performance.
