The Kenyan team, with six points and six goals scored, lead the group and their performance was supported by an enthusiastic crowd at a packed stadium in Mamboleo Estate.

In the opening match against Sudan, Babu stuck to the same lineup, namely Joseph Omuse and Tyrone Kariuki controlled the field while captain Amos Wanjala, Baron Ochieng, Joseph Bate and Manzoor Suleiman Okwaro stood in defense.

Despite the defeat, Rwanda head coach Baptiste Kairanga remains optimistic saying his team will fight till the end in their next match against Sudan to make it to the semifinals. Babu admitted that Rwanda played better than in the first group match against Somalia at the weekend but praised his players for a great performance.
