Italian vineyard at auction - priced above a New York apartment
Attention, true wine connoisseurs! Later this month, a luxury Italian estate with its own vineyard will be auctioned in the Italian Piedmont region, in the Monferrato wine region. This 35-acre property is open for bids until November 16 in collaboration with auction house Concierge Auctions and Casa & Country Italian Property dealer Jeremy Onslow-Macaulay. The starting bid is €2 million ($2.14 million) and the reserve price is €900,000. A spokesperson for the company is currently unavailable for comment.
The eleven-bedroom villa, located on the estate, is a true representation of the old world, with beamed ceilings, fireplaces, ceramic''s floor tiles and windows with shutters, offering views of the surrounding variegated northern Italian countryside.
With its own vineyard and a variety of wines including Ovadese Dolcetto, Barbera del Monferrato, Cabernet franc, Chardonnay and Corteze, the estate has the capacity to produce between 50,000 and 80,000 bottles of wine per year. The estate has three wine bottling cellars with modern systems and equipment.
Region'. 'Piedmont, located at the foot of the Alps on the border with France and Switzerland, is renowned for its culinary delights, including high-end wines, white truffles, hazelnuts, cheeses and pastas. According to the auction description, the estate is surrounded by more than 45 Michelin-starred restaurants.
