Increase in the percentage of foreign buyers
In recent years, the percentage of foreign buyers choosing the residential real estate market in Greece has increased, both for tourism purposes and for permanent residence after retirement.
Interesting facts
Among all foreign buyers, Israel ranks first among the five most popular nationalities. 40% of all buyers are in the age group of 40 to 50 years, and 30% purchase real estate worth up to 100,000 euros.

Trends by regions
In the northern part of Greece, there has been a high demand from citizens of Germany, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Turkey, while in the southern part, the largest number of transactions were made by citizens of Israel, China, Germany, and Lebanon. Overall, Greece is seeing a diversity of nationalities among investors.
Research
The research also shows that the main group of foreign buyers is aged between 41 and 50 years, making up 37%, while those aged 51 to 60 years account for 36%. Apartments remain the most popular type of property for foreigners, constituting 46% of all transactions, followed by private houses, duplexes, land plots, and commercial real estate.
