The community in Buckhead was shocked to learn that the man killed by a falling tree during a severe storm Sunday night was well-known real estate agent George Hirrie Jr.

ATLANTA - A well-known Atlanta realtor died during a thunderstorm Sunday night in Georgia when a tree fell on him in his Buckhead neighborhood. Atlanta police said firefighters found 55-year-old George Hirrie Jr. on Delmont Drive NE struggling to breathe. They attempted to give him CPR, but were unsuccessful. Hirrie was taken to Grady Ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

George Hirrie was a well-known and respected agent for''s real estate business with over twenty years of experience in the industry. He worked alongside his brother as business partners in Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby'\''s International Realty. Neil, George's brother, told FOX 5 that he spoke to him on the phone the day he died. "George was in his happy place: with his cell phone at home, walking his dogs," he said. George Hirrie Jr. (provided by family) "He was the most sincere, serious guy you could know. George was always calm and organized.
