Catastrophes and climate in Threaten Greece: food shortages - VoxEurop

Two billion euros! That's how much the series of climate disasters that hit Greece between mid-July and mid-September could cost, according to estimates by Mojos Korasidis, executive director of the National Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Greece.
Georgos Stratakos, secretary general of the Greek agriculture ministry, agrees: "This is a global problem." The fires first hit the area around Alexandroupolis, the main city of the agricultural region of Evros in the northeast of the country.
