James Comer rejected the latest attempt by Democrats to shift focus onto former President Trump's inner circle. Comer stated that Jared Kushner's business is legitimate and dismissed the request for hearings, calling it an attempt to "protect President Biden from scrutiny."

Jamie Raskin, the leading Democrat on the committee, sent a letter to Comer urging him to hold hearings on the allegations of "blatant influence peddling and business dealings" involving Trump's son and former White House advisor Jared Kushner.
