Focus Features has scheduled the release of the Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black for the beginning of summer2024.

Focus Features has announced that the biopic of Amy Winehouse, "Back to Black," will be released in theaters on May 10, 2024. The film will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, with the screenplay written by Matt Greenhalgh. This is not the first collaboration for this duo, as they previously worked together in 2009 on the film "Nowhere Boy."

"Back to Black" presents us with an unprecedented perspective on how Amy Winehouse's career began and how her groundbreaking studio album "Back to Black" was released. The film tells the story from Winehouse's own point of view and promises to provide an honest look at the woman, the legend, and the relationship that inspired the creation of one of the most famous albums of all time. Released in 2006, the album catapulted Winehouse to stardom, and she won a record-breaking five Grammy Awards at the time, including "Record of the Year" and "Song of the Year." Winehouse sold over 30 million albums worldwide, and her songs today generate over 80 million streams each month.

The lead role in the film will be played by Marisa Abela (from the series "Industry"), along with Jack O'Connell (from the film "Ferrari"), Eddie Marsan (from the film "The Outlaws"), and Lesley Manville (from the film "Mrs.
