Who owns more land: Bill Gates, McDonald's or the Catholic Church?

for last year. It can be assumed that the buying doesn't stop.

While Gates said his purchases are a result of his investment groups, he also recognizes the potential and importance of farmland. He said in a Q&A session on Reddit that these purchases are related to the development of the seed and biofuel sectors.

Information from The Land Report came out in the winter of 2021, after which criticism of Gates' accumulation of U.S. farmland began. Total acreage owned by Bill Gates: more than 270,000 acres.

The arguments in favor of McDonald'\''s:

The McDonald'\''s brand is huge and has been around since 1955. In almost 70 years, the number of McDonald's restaurants now stands at over 39,000 as of January''2022. Each of these locations has approximately 1.2 acres of land. The study shows that McDonald's owns about 70% of the buildings and 45% of the land at its locations worldwide. When all calculations are taken into account, McDonald'\''s owns approximately 47,037 acres of land.

Only about 15% of McDonald'\''s restaurants are owned and operated directly by the company. The rest operate on a franchise basis.

The real business of McDonald's is to act as a landlord for its franchisees. The company sets the ground rules and organizes a successful operation. It is said that burgers only sell because it is the easiest way for franchisees to make a profit and give it back to the company.

The goal is to acquire real estate, and'"a new McDonald's restaurant opens every 15 hours.

The total land area owned by McDonald's: 50,000 acres and growing.

Arguments in favor of the Catholic Church:

The Catholic Church owns 177 million acres of land around the world for its churches and schools, and also has holdings in farm and forest land.

If that figure seems staggering to you, you're not alone. A report from Yale Climate Connections tells the story of Molly Burhans, executive director of Goodlands, who discovered that the Catholic Church does not have a comprehensive registry of its land ownership. Molly stated that the Church has not updated its property data since the Holy''Roman Empire.

With permission from the Vatican, Burhans set out to create a comprehensive registry of the Catholic Church on a data platform. The live database allows visualization of all her holdings on the earth.

Total land owned by the Catholic Church: 177,000,000 acres.

The Catholic Church owns a larger share of land, much larger than McDonald'\''s and billionaire Bill Gates. If you care about environmental change, global warming and climate change, this massive stakeholder goes unnoticed.

Whether you are an individual running a 501(c)(3) or a large corporation, owning real estate should remain a priority. If you don't have the ability to take''s first steps toward owning your own real estate, consider the following two options.

Owning real estate through real estate investment trusts (REITs): Similar to investing in stocks, these industry-specific investments allow you to purchase real estate in an industry you believe in.

Crowdfunding: Real estate crowdfunding platforms allow you to invest in equity ownership of specific real estate properties and projects. Such long-term investments can prove lucrative over time.
