As of today, November 8, you can now transfer Bilt Rewards points to the Marriott Bonvoy program at a 1:1 ratio. Bilt cardholders can transfer points to Marriott in portions of 1,000 (Bilt Blue Tier members must transfer a minimum of 2,000 points per transaction). Cardholders also receive a bonus 5,000 Marriott Bonvoy points for every 20,000 Bilt points transferred to Marriott in a single transaction. Transferring points from Bilt to Marriott can take up to 48 hours to get to your Bonvoy account. Marriott joins a dozen Bilt transfer partners among airlines and hotels, including American Airlines and United Airlines in the air, and IHG and Hyatt on the ground. You'll receive a bonus of 100 Bilt Rewards points for linking your Marriott Bonvoy account to your Bilt Rewards account.

The Mastercard Bilt® card

A relative newcomer to the consumer credit card market that has generated a lot of interest for good reason. This no annual fee card earns points on monthly rental payments with no processing fees and offers 3x points on restaurant purchases or 2x points on travel. Foodies in some major cities can also get up to 8x points when visiting certain Bilt partner restaurants. You'll also earn 5x Lyft points if you link your member account to Bilt Rewards. Bilt cardholders also earn extra points on the first day of each month as part of Bilt Rent Day by playing quizzes or making credit card purchases. All purchases, except rentals, earn double points on "Rent Day". The editors value Bilt points at an average rate of 1.65 cents apiece, although redemption costs can range from 1.2 to 2.1 cents apiece.

Transferring points to Marriott can be an effective way to add to a hotel chain's points balance. However, direct transfer is not the best scheme, as Insider estimates that Marriott points are worth just 0.7 cents apiece on average, while Bilt points can cost much more. (It should be noted that transferring points from Chase Ultimate Rewards or Amex Membership Rewards to Marriott also has a low redemption rate.) It is often most beneficial to transfer Bilt points to your airline partners. For example, in November 2023, Rent Day gave members the opportunity to transfer points to Emirates airline with a bonus of up to 150%, where 1,000 Bilt points could be worth 2,500 Emirates Skywards miles. Since a single first class flight on Emirates can cost over $5,000, booking a luxury flight for miles can be a much more efficient use of your points. Alternatively, you can book travel directly through Bilt's travel portal and use your points to pay for part or all of the cost.
