King Felipe VI opens the new building of the College of Registrars of Property and Commercial Affairs.
King Felipe VI inaugurated the new building of the College of Registrars of Spain with an official visit to the new location at Príncipe de Vergara 70 in Madrid. During his visit, he asked questions and learned about various aspects of the registrars' work. Deputy Dean José Miguel Tabares presented the technical specifications of the new building. During the tour of the premises, the King was shown some books from the Archive of the Mortgage Office, which is the source of the Land Registry; at the same time, the Director of Information Systems José Soriano presented the projects that are already underway and will be completed by May 9 with the full implementation of electronic registration. Director of Graphic Bases Luis Benavides demonstrated the work of advanced and international initiatives, such as the Registry Portal for Emergencies. Through cross-referencing registry data with information from the European Union's Copernicus system, it is possible to know in real-time the total number of plots, land, buildings, or structures that have been damaged and to assess the global impact of disasters, as well as access data on the affected registry areas.

New national building of the College of Registrars of Spain
It strives to be a combination of history, innovation, and efficiency. This very building, which opened today, served as a college until 2004, after which it was moved to Diego de León Street 21. Following a complete renovation, the institutional building of the College of Registrars returned to Príncipe de Vergara 70. The College of Property, Commercial, and Movable Asset Registrars of Spain began the contracting process, adhering to the principles of transparency and competition, for the execution of works (including the development of the main and working project for the works and equipment) for the renovation of the buildings located at Príncipe de Vergara 70-72, with a total area of 8,971.10 m2 above ground and 2,794.70 m2 underground, distributed over nine floors and three underground levels.
Work
included the renovation of the entire building area, including the interior and exterior, to transform it into a functional, modern, innovative and energy-efficient space where the Registrars' College, the Madrid Commercial Registry and the Central Registry of Chattels are located and operate. The exceptional energy-saving and construction measures implemented in the building have earned it the Breeam construction quality certification.
