The best Florida resorts for a relaxing vacation in the Sunshine State.

Florida is definitely a year-round resort area, mainly due to its many perfect beaches on 12 different coasts, moderate winters and the presence of 230 to 250 days of sunshine per year. Here, even summer heat, large masses of seaweed and hurricane season - a mid-August to October location - don't stop people from creating multiple memories at Orlando's theme parks, spotting alligators in Everglades National Park, fishing and boating until sunset, swimming with manatees, watching space shuttle launches, tasting tart pai and scuba diving in the reefs of the Florida Keys, or partying like Pitbull in Miami.

No matter how you plan to spend your vacation in the Sunshine State, chances are you'll need somewhere to stay, and the best Florida resorts and hotels are as varied as the plans they make. To help you narrow down your search, here's our list of the 16 best Florida resorts, most of which can be booked for points.

Tampa's main office

Tampa, Florida, USA.

Best for: the trendiest vacation in central Florida.

The perks of vacationing here: those who love to eat (and drink) will be pleased with the seven restaurants and bars, including the popular Caribbean drinks lounge with a truly Michelin masterpiece from John Fraser. For everyone else, there's an indoor rooftop pool, spa, performance space and waterside walks. Best way to book: book through our partner Skylark to enjoy elite level benefits and credits while on property and still earn Marriott Bonvoy points, or book directly through Marriott to use points.

The establishment officially opened in 2022 as part of the $3.5 billion Water Street development and renovation project. This sophisticate oasis in the city immediately became one of the most popular places to eat and drink, as well as one of the best resorts in Florida.

Located close to the waterfront and parkways, the ambiance at The Tampa Edition is impressive from the moment you enter through the bougainvillea-adorned front door, into a self-contained jungle of palm plants wisely used to divide the lobby space into cozy areas. Here you'll find comfortable seating and long couches, a pool table, a bar, a white spiral staircase (a signature brand feature), and, if you arrive during the day, a friendly bar machine serving punch. In the evening, ghostly lighting creates shadows up to the ceiling, and it's impossible not to be mesmerized watching the dancing palm leaves.

You'll notice the distinctive aroma of black tea from Le Labo, creating an exciting and peaceful atmosphere that will set the tone for your stay.

The top floor has the most interesting and colorful pool deck, one of the first of its kind in Tampa (but judging by its popularity, definitely not the last). The green walls, flower beds, bar, eye-catching balancing lighting, skyscraper views and glass pool are a tantalizing shooting base at any time of day.

Inside the 27-story tower design by Morris Ajmi, there are 172 rooms and 38 private apartments. Expect creamy minimalism, large windows, exquisite finishes and one of the coziest beds in the industry. You'll also find two other brand hallmarks here: faux fur fakes - each brand has its own unique blanket - and black and white picture frames that create a sense of place. Also, trust us, you'll definitely want a bathtub separate from the shower, if only to frame an exclusive bottle of salts.

When you're ready to leave your retreat in a luxurious cocoon, you won't have to go far to eat breakfast or lunch, replenish your caffeine or send emails. On the first floor are Market at Edition, where you can have breakfast, grab a coffee or send a few emails. The second floor features a trendy beer bar specializing in cocktails of favorite flavors and drinks collected from all over the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, and the Arts Club, where guests can enjoy live music and stand-up comedy under a canopy of disco balls.
