34-year-old Bulgarian national has confessed to the dismantling of stolen vehicles that took place in his garage in Hal Cormie. The man was arraigned in court on Wednesday before Judge Abigail Critien, where he admitted to handling stolen property and destroying evidence of the crime.

The court was informed that the accused was arrested after police recovered several stolen vehicles in his garage and a nearby parking lot at the Handauk Industrial Estate between October 30 and November 6.

Attorney Jacob Magri, who assisted the accused, asked for bail pending sentencing and noted that the man has a clean criminal record. He also emphasized that his client lives with his family on''Malta is now 11 years old.

It was also noted that the accused fully cooperated with the police and answered all questions during interrogation. Magri asked the court to impose the minimum sentence considering the accused's continuous assistance to the police investigation.

The prosecution said it was not pushing for actual imprisonment.

Bail was set at 3,000 euros in cash.

The court imposed a curfew from 20:00 to 7:30. He was ordered to visit the chancery office on presentation of a bail book once a week.

Sentencing will take place in December.
