2 Dec 2565 - It is reported that recently in the evening of December 1, there was an accident involving a passenger car that fell into the Huai Yang Reservoir, Ban Thai Phatthana, Tambon Don Arang, Nongki Ampho, Nongki Police Station, Buriram, Buriram Province, and there are missing persons.

A rescue operation was organized by the local government of Tambon Don Arang together with Nong Ki Rescue Team, Bright Angel, Chalermphrakiat, Nondindaen Professional Rescue Union and Burirame Police Rescue Team to check and find the missing underwater.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a maroon-colored Honda Civic passenger car, registration number กษ-9387, Nakonratchasima, stranded in the Huai Yang Reservoir, almost completely submerged in water. The rescue team immediately checked the condition of the car and found that it was almost completely destroyed, all the windows were broken, but there was no one in the car. The driver of the car is believed to have collided with an obstacle, got out of the vehicle and fell into the reservoir.

One witness, Miss Nataya Khamsot, 34, in shock and sobbing, said the driver who fell into the water was Mr. Somchai Kumpakwaen, 47, a resident of Pakthonchai Ampho, Nakonratchasima, and her own husband.

Rescuers initially descended to the area where the wreckage of the car was found for about half an hour but found no one. Then a representative of the rescue team and Mr. Somchai's wife, who was missing in the water, performed rituals according to the beliefs to open the path and find Mr. Somchai. It took about 2 hours until rescuers found Mr. Somchai's body, which was in the water about 20 meters away from where the car had fallen. They then helped lift the body out of the water and placed it on the dam. Mrs.

Nataya, the wife, hugged her husband's soulless body and cried until she fainted.

Then Ms. Nataya Khamsot, a resident of Tambon Don Ijan, Ampho Non Suwan, Burirame province, said that on that day, she and her husband, 11-year-old son and 3 other friends went together in a passenger car to go for a drive at Huai Yang Reservoir. They had a few drinks and the kids were playing around. But suddenly her husband got in the car and drove off without saying anything or indicating where he was going. A short time later, a man approached them and reported that the vehicle had fallen into the water. They immediately ran to look and found it was their own husband's car and everyone was shocked. They yelled for people who were fishing nearby to help them, but there was no husband in the car. So they informed rescuers about the accident and asked for help in the search.

After some time, rescuers found the dead husband's body and confirmed that she and her husband did not quarrel before the incident and do not know why he left and fell into the water.

Mr. Surya Chimchan, 38, a local resident who was fishing and saw the accident, said that while he was sitting fishing at the dam, about 500 meters away from the scene of the accident, he saw a car drive over the dam at high speed and then collapsed into the water. He immediately ran to help but found no one in the car. It is suspected that it could be the result of a collision with an obstacle, after which the car overturned and the driver fell into the water.

Police officers took the body of the deceased and transported it to the hospital morgue to re-examine the cause of the accident before handing it over to relatives for further religious rites.
