The search team found the wreckage of the Taitan submarine on the ocean floor. United States officials have confirmed that all five crew members have died.
After wreckage of the submarine's hull was found near the ocean floor, it became clear that it had been severely damaged and an explosion had occurred.
It was the end of a multi-day operation to search for survivors. Now they are preparing for the next stage - the recovery of the submarine wreckage.
