Lyon real estate in a nutshell.
In the coming years, Lyons plans to build 700 new student housing units. By 2025, nine student dormitories will be built in the Lumiere france/other-regions-of-france/lion/">Lyon 2 neighborhood of Lumiere Lyon University in Bron. The total area will be about 20,000 square meters with 682 apartments. 250 places will be made available to Cru (France's student hostel service), 150 places to social landlord Vilogy and 372 places for free rent. The housing area will vary from 19 square meters for the smallest Cru rooms to more than 100 square meters for collective living in eight. The mayors of Bron and St. Priest opposed the project, citing a lack of parking spaces. As a result, new construction will take away about 600 parking spaces.
The real estate and business firm JLL has released its data on commercial real estate in Lyon in the third quarter of 2023. Total space sold was 65,000 square meters, almost unchanged from the third quarter of 2022.
Nerco, a company specializing in engineering and technical solutions for buildings, makes an acquisition of Energimotique, a building maintenance company, backed by Siparex Midcap support. Nerco expects its turnover to reach 50 million euros by 2023. Following the acquisition, the company says it plans to continue hiring employees.
SerenySun, a company specializing in the use of short energy circuits, and Flex Park, a subsidiary of Inéa, have signed a lease on the rooftops of a new building in the Sois district of Vaulx-en-Velin. Four solar power plants will be installed on an area of 3,000 square meters, with an energy production volume corresponding to the average annual consumption of 150 households.
Office construction specialist Société de la Tour Eiffel and building contractor Vinci Immobilier plan to transform the former Orange office space in the Part-Dieu district. The 15,000-square-meter space is planned to include new offices as well as residential units, including student dormitories. The cost of the project is 30 million euros.
According to the National Association of Landscape Companies, Lyon is the fourth greenest city in France. Since 2021, 81 greening projects have been started in the city. Thanks to its greening policy, the city of Lyon offers "52 square meters of green space per person," according to the report.
