Real estate: Belgians' purchasing power decreased by 22%

Since the beginning of January 2022, Belgians' purchasing power in real estate has decreased by 22%, according to a study by the website Immoweb. This is one of the consequences of the sharp rise in interest rates, combined with the maintenance of high real estate prices. More and more families are finding it difficult to put together the necessary budget to buy their dream home.
The real estate portal Immoweb has converted this decrease in purchasing power into square meters.
The result: the purchasing power for a couple without children with an average income has decreased from 114 square meters to 89 square meters, a decrease of 25 sq. m. 25
