According to data released by the Greek General Tax Administration, the value of real estate owned by individuals and businesses in Greece has risen again. The total objective value of 7,159,164 individuals and businesses is 771.9 billion euros, an increase of 2.5 billion euros since 2023.

The data also shows that out of 7,159,164 individuals and legal entities who received a property tax bill for 2024, 991,860 property owners were exempt from paying property tax, receiving a zero bill.

In total, the remaining 6,167,304 individuals and legal entities were required to pay a tax of 2.286 billion euros. About 215,171 taxpayers with insured homes against earthquakes, fires, and floods received a discount of up to 10% on property tax.

Data analysis by region shows that property owners in Attica will pay 1.2 billion euros for their real estate, which has a total value of over 409 billion euros.

In the region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, 337,700 property owners have real estate worth 23.7 billion euros and pay a tax of 74.77 million euros.

These are just some data on property taxation in Greece that confirm the overall increase in value and tax payments over the past year.
