Christophe Bouscod, CEO of Orne Habitat, accompanied by Vianney Girard, project director, Charlene Renard, responsible for communication, and Christine Liger, director of the Le Eigle department, visited Eschofour, Orne. Demolition of former private school

The former private school complex, built by Orn Abitat in 1990 and comprising three collective dwellings (two one-bedroom and one three-bedroom) on Rue Saint-André, has been severely damaged. Lack of or inadequate sound and thermal insulation and outdated equipment. Bringing it up to modern quality standards would require significant financial resources to address the challenges and ensure optimal commercialization. Without the availability of exterior spaces, the structure and organization of housing no longer met the modern demands of our tenants. Three of these homes have been vacant since 2008. Thus, no resettlement process has been carried out. As Christophe Buscod reports, the energy efficiency rating for these dwellings is G. The cost of demolishing the building is €75,429, including a subsidy from the Housing Program of €22,500 and Orn Abitat's own funds of €52,929.

There is a demand

In a village with a population of 750, Mayor Didier Duvaldestin says we have quite a few rental requests. We have a project to renovate a former nursing home to create a dormitory for younger workers, a small common area, association space and community space.

Orne Abitat currently manages eight family housing properties in the city: three on Rue de Jardin, four in Impas Affre and one in the former City Hall on Grand Rue.
